...on a snowy morning
Wonder of wonders, I have uploaded this painting I did this morning, on my blog. I love views out of the window and they have always given me the greatest scope for contemplation. This is Chicago that I saw and enjoyed when I first landed home. Trees bare and shrubs green, sharing the same snow covered ground with idyllic houses spaced out, just a big garden squirrel darting across and a host of black birds pecking for something in the grass, mostly covered with snow. My first view of Chicago continues to be the same blissful picture of silence.

Thanks for the cheerful picture. It is nice to see something personal and current.
I gather that the houses in India are not idyllic and perfectly spaced out. What are they like?
Wow be now: What a transformation in the name. It's beautiful. Being in the Now is the Essence of an Enlightened Life. Nothing dragging you to the past or future, but being in the present.
I wouldn't say, houses in India are not idyllic and perfectly spaced out. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Of course, physically India is a populated country and space is a luxury on the ground level, but idyllic houses do exist in pockets.
Again as I said, it is a point of view and depends on the individual. To whichever house I go, I have the capacity to make it look idyllic and spaced out - or it happens to me that way. It's the essence of Indian philosphy - Tat Twam Asi - You are That. If I am idyllic and spaced out myself, I'll see that all around me, wherever I go, India, America or Japan. If my mind is constrained and locked with one hundred thousand things, I'll see only a constrained atmosphere wherever I go. Thank you, for your question really made me think and here is the answer!
Truly blissful picture...
simple expression of your moments of connectivity with source...just thro your hands
love to you...
Joy, joy, joy. Welcome to America. Your talent amazes me. Bill.

Thank you all Bill, Matt, Ganesh and Vinesh. Wow what a rhyme!
Swahilya,
I am glad you like the name. It is a helpful reminder for myself and I hope it works for you too.
How nice that a India has such a philosophy as Tat Twam Asi.
I have observed something like this at two different levels. At one level we simply notice the things that we are thinking about and ignore the millions of other things that we could have observed. This I would call self deception.
At a different level it seems that things actually change depending on my level of awarenss(as opposed to direction of awareness). It almost seems like magic happens when one is more aware. Of course, it is all illusion, but there do seem to be two distinctly different levels of illusion.
@Be Now: I liked the humour in your "two different levels of illusion." You are right. When a microscopic perspective can be an illusion, the macroscopic view is too an illusion. That's why Indian Vedanta calls this world an Illusion. But at one level, it is tangible all the same.
And about the name, it sure helps the one who calls and the one being called to remain connected with the spirit and be in the present moment. That's the reason why there is so much importance given to the tradition of naming babies across cultures. And it's also important that beautiful names are not boiled down to abbreviations and acronyms, for the vibrations of the sound and the meaning that it joined to it, will be lost.
