Patanjali Yoga Sutra - IV - 7

Actions neither black nor white

Karmashuklaakrushna Yoginastrividhamitaresham||
कर्माशुक्लाकृष्ण योगिनस्त्रिविधमितरेषां ||

The Yogis actions are neither white nor black. They are neither good karma that yields meritorious results, nor bad karma that incurs sin. For others though, it can be good karma that translates into punya and bad karma that is papa and mishra karma - having both punya and papa. When there is only shubha karma, they become devas. When there is a predominance of papa, they live a hellish life and those with mixed karma become human beings.- SS

Patanjali Yoga Sutra - IV - 6

From Meditation, the Mind becomes pure

तत्र ध्यानजमनाशयं

 Tatra Dhyanajam Anashayam -

Once the mind has become meditative, it has become pure. It becomes free of desires, anger, greed, delusion, arrogance and jealousy. In constant meditation, the sub-conscious impressions of the mind drop off. Without the kleshas of ignorance, arrogance, attachment, hatred and clinging on to life, the mind becomes fit for liberation. - SS.
