..... and being
Most of the poems I write, has just happened. And some times wen I get caught in situations where I go back to what I have written and they teach me lessons, which I remembered and forgot then. Here is one such.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder
Absence makes love get stronger
Absence brings friendships closer
Absence binds relationships tighter
Absence gives time for people to ponder
Absence helps wounds heal faster
Pangs of separation -
Hard though the shafts may be
The distance, time and suffering
Are life's greatest teachers.

Hi Swahilya,
That was a nice one, so very realistic. So nicely you have put that we know the value of a thing, people or circumstances only when it is not there.
Just like people talk all the good about a person after he is dead, but no such feelings would have come during his life time, which have infact would have been the main cause of his untimely death.
"Distance, time, suffering, life's greatest teachers". So true said in the most simple manner. Great going Swahilya.
The distance, time and suffering
Are life's greatest teachers.
--what are they going to teach.Is that going to help...These things going to happen to a person in every stage of his life and if they teach the person any thing, he should overcome pain, suffering at some stage of his life but does that happen? A person live in pain and suffering till his last breath, so what is teaching him what?...
Sathesh...The teachings are for sure and real. The teachings always continue. But you are not willing to learn. You refuse and so you continue to suffer. The wise ones learn from every lesson life has to teach and get wiser by the day(and night too). You can choose to be exception. God speed.
ABSENCE CAN...
+++.remind you where you are presently..
+++.can make you search
+++.helps you to reflect
+++.can nurture dispassion
+++.make you not to miss it again
+++.allows you to do other pending works
+++.make one taste the salt in tears
+++.reduce eating and thereby slim
without eating properly
+++.make you value it in its presence
+++.hang a face like banana and earn sympathy or abuse
+++.make you enjoy it so much that when it is there you dont care
+++.jump a signal
+++.take to drugs
+++.make you sleepless so that you can read all the books never opened before or run and catch
water from the tankers latenight.
+++.helps you count stars
+++.postpone everything(including a shower)
+++.finally make you write poems
IF SOMEONE ADDS MORE..I APPRECIATE!
warlord so right again. Sun can shine and wind can blow but if one does not want to open the windows, who should be blamed?
sathesh wake up maaan...
-On the flipside..absence can also mean differently-
-It can do a few other things.
-----------------------------------
1. brings happiness
2. heave a sigh of relief
3. breath fresh air again
5. ends the throb in the head
4. finds new meaning in life
6. make new resolutions
7. start afresh all over again
8. get trapped in to something new
9. feeling younger and fitter
10.sleep better
11.eat more and put on weight due to over happiness
12.regain confidence
13.seeing life in new dimensions
14.get more freetime to be lazy
15.get married again(if the husband or wife is absent)
16.complain in the police station
17.release a missing column in newspaper
Hope cottonfires agree with me..
@Ganesh: Situations may be happy, difficult, sorrowful. But ultimately, whatever happens - that is the best - when evolution is the reason for being. Tatastu.
Swahilya.
@Hari: Absence becomes difficult when I take my sight off the presence and focus on the person.
@Hari: I discovered recently a trick. Missing happens not because someone or something moves out of sight, but because the mind wants situations and people to do what it wishes. So when change is the constant factor in the world, when my mind takes off on missing, I tell it to shut up and meditate. Breathe in and Breathe out. And like Amrutanjan - It's gone. Not a headache, but in this case, the ache and pain of missing.
Sathesh: As Warlord said, everything lies in attitude. Anything that happens in life comes for no other purpose, except teach something. Once the lesson is taught, learnt and absorbed, the situation has no place. So the answer lies in observation. Look, look, look into anything and everything that comes your way.
Warlord: Truly said. Life is an open university where the sun, stars, space, water, fire, mud, bird, computer, keyboard, flowers -anything speaks. Only the listener has to be available and that's what Absence has taught me.
..the mind wants situations and people to do what it wishes..
its so true.. feel its the root cause of most of our pain and dissapointments
Cottonfires: I've gone through everything that you said, except taking drugs, spend sleepless nights and postpone things. Poems you bet. Thank's for so meticulously listing things out. Presence or Absence - life goes on!
Wiseacre: Thank You. I guess my blog is blessed with the presence of many enlightened beings!
Warlord: I blow my bugle to your alternative perspective. You're not just warring. You can be humorous too!
Sathesh: Great, you have got it. The mind - that's the thing that makes you feel happy or sad. Nobody or nothing else can do that to you. (I'm keeping your request you sent on mail in mind and will soon come up with a post on your question.)
sometime more we look into things, more we observe, more we learn, more we search for truth we end up into more pain..
when those little hands rise in front of your face with that longing eyes wet with sufferings imposed on it by time, crying for a piece of coin..
What should i understand from this life's cruel game.Sometimes just realising something, knowing the truth doesnt help us ...its confusing..
The mind realises, knows,know the solution but it cannot apply it in reality.. can only be a spectator to all those..and suffer silenty
Sathesh: When you see little hands stretch out, with tearful eyes, filled with suffering, asking for a coin it is very simple: If you have a coin and feel like giving, give. If you have a coin and don't feel like giving - don't give. If you don't have a coin, but want to do something - just feel for the misery of the other within yourself. I tell you, it can work wonders. It can rewrite destinies! There is no need to suffer silently, when it is in your hands to do something about it.
